Any unusual ways of drawing will definitely appeal to children, because they love experiments so much! Today let’s talk about one of them — drawing with both hands.

Drawing with two hands

There is an opinion that people who write with their right hand, the left hemisphere of the brain is more developed, and left-handers, respectively — the right. Therefore, it is useful to use both hemispheres equally. Simultaneous movements with both hands contribute to this. New neural connections are created, increasing mental activity and efficiency. And also such training increases the level of attention distribution.

When drawing with both hands, the main task is to leave on the paper as symmetrical drawings as possible. It is necessary to take a pencil or felt-tip pen in each hand, then bring them to one point on the sheet and draw, starting from this point. When the right hand moves to the right, the left hand moves to the left, when the drawing line goes down or up, the hands move in the same direction. To make it easier to draw, tape a sheet of paper to the table.

You can prepare sheets with pairs of identical elements drawn with dotted lines in advance. Your task is to draw lines along the dotted lines at the same time. It seems to be easy. It is, if the movement is in one direction. But try moving the pencils in opposite directions. Only with regular exercises will it become better and better.

It is better to start such exercises with the simplest elements — stripes, circles, zigzags, wavy lines. When both hands will confidently hold a pencil, you can move on to creating more complicated drawings.
